Issue No. 01 · On Foundations

There is a version of you that already lives inside you — healthy, unhurried, connected, at ease in her body, clear in her mind. Not a fantasy. Not someone else. The woman you are underneath everything the world has been asking of you since you were old enough to have a Tuesday that looked exactly like the Monday before it.

She is not hard to find. She has not gone anywhere. She is buried under information that was never built to serve her.

I built this magazine because I spent years learning that the hard way — in my own body, at my own expense, one modality and one protocol and one ceremony at a time. I am Venezuelan-born, bilingual — SRT, EFT, TAMA TAIE and Reiki Practitioner. I have sat with Pundit Hector doing Pujas, retreated for ten days of silence in Vipassana, traveled across four states following James Arthur Ray's work, and stood with 1,700 people through a week-long retreat with Dr. Joe Dispenza. I have discovered plant medicine and psychedelics. I have bathed in glacier water in the Andes before entering sacred ground to walk on fire.

These experiences — and many more — brought me here. And still — there are things I wish I had known twenty years earlier. Things that would have changed decisions I cannot now undo.

That is why The Trove exists. Not as the one who knows it all, but as a woman still on the path, reporting back.

Every issue: one featured product worth your trust, one emerging science worth watching, one practitioner working at the edge of what we understand. My promise — I will always give you the truth as I know it.

This issue is on foundations. What you build your health on before everything else arrives. Not trends. Not theater. Infrastructure that lasts.

You are a sovereign being having a human experience. Welcome. I am thrilled you are here.

The Architecture & The Standard
Five pillars. One direction. Return. · What this magazine stands for.
I Heat

Exposure to 60–80°C triggers Heat Shock Protein 70 (HSP70) within 15 minutes, activating cellular repair and reducing inflammation markers (CRP, IL-6). Regular use expands plasma volume by up to 21% — cardiovascular adaptation equivalent to moderate aerobic training. Laukkanen et al. (JAMA, 2018): 48% reduction in fatal cardiovascular events with 4–7 sessions/week.

II Cold

Cold water immersion below 15°C triggers a 200–300% spike in norepinephrine and a 250% increase in dopamine — neurochemical shifts that persist 3–6 hours post-exposure. A 2014 Radboud University trial demonstrated voluntary immune system activation through cold exposure, previously considered physiologically impossible.

III Light

Near-infrared wavelengths (630–850nm) activate cytochrome c oxidase in the mitochondrial electron transport chain, increasing ATP synthesis by 30–40%. Morning light (480nm, blue spectrum) resets the suprachiasmatic nucleus — the biological clock governing every hormonal cycle. Photobiomodulation is now FDA-cleared for wound healing and pain reduction.

IV Field

The human heart generates an electromagnetic field measurable 3–4 feet from the body (HeartMath Institute). Cardiac coherence — induced by sustained positive emotional states — produces measurable reductions in cortisol, improvements in HRV, and changes in autonomic nervous system regulation confirmed across multiple peer-reviewed studies.

V Spirit

Dispenza's neuroplasticity research documents that elevated emotional states during meditation produce measurable gamma coherence and alter gene expression within days. Spirit is not the final pillar — it is the first one. Every molecule, wavelength, and protocol in this magazine serves one purpose: return you to yourself.

We refuse
  • Pseudoscience dressed as spirituality
  • Overpromising dressed as hope — if a product will not change your life, we will say so
  • Ingredient lists with no explanation of why each element exists
  • Urgency theater, before-and-after marketing, anything that requires you to distrust your own body
  • Any product that fails the test: would I give this to a woman I love?
We promise
  • The truth as we know it, updated as we learn more
  • Honest timelines — results take time, and we will tell you how much
  • Full transparency when The Trove earns a commission — always disclosed, never hidden
  • The willingness to say this did not work for me as clearly as this changed everything
  • Natural first. Always natural first.

This magazine will never be finished. Neither will you. That is not a flaw in either of us. That is the whole point.

Policy Watch · HHS 2025–2026
A New Health Conversation in America

Under Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s leadership at HHS, federal agencies launched reviews of food additives, pharmaceutical transparency, and healthcare fraud not seriously attempted in decades. Petroleum-derived dyes — Red 40, Yellow 5, and Yellow 6, linked to behavioral effects in children (McCann et al., The Lancet, 2007) — were fast-tracked for removal from federally funded school meals. The FDA initiated formal review of GRAS designations — rules that had allowed thousands of ingredients to self-certify safety without independent testing for over 50 years.

NIH funding shifted explicitly toward chronic disease prevention, metabolic health, and the documented harms of ultra-processed food. Major manufacturers — General Mills, Kraft Heinz, PepsiCo — began voluntarily reformulating ahead of regulation. What changed immediately was the national conversation: the formal federal acknowledgment that prevention, food quality, and ingredient transparency are legitimate public health priorities — not fringe positions. For readers of The Trove, this reflects what we have argued from the start: the most powerful health interventions happen before you ever need a prescription.

The World Right Now
Four paradigm shifts already in motion — and what they mean for how you live

We are living through a quiet revolution in how the human body is understood. The science did not arrive slowly — it arrived all at once, in the last five years, faster than medicine could absorb it. The mainstream has not caught up. Your doctor may not know what you are about to read. These are the four shifts The Trove considers non-negotiable for any woman building her health in 2026. Each one becomes a full investigation in future issues.

You Can Now Measure How Fast You Are Aging

Epigenetic clocks (GrimAge, PhenoAge, Horvath) read DNA methylation patterns at hundreds of CpG sites and produce a biological age more predictive of mortality than your birth year (Lu et al., Nature Aging, 2019). For the first time, you can test a protocol, retest 6 months later, and know if it is working — not by how you feel, but by what your cells are doing. This changes everything about how we build health strategies. Full feature: Issue No. 03.

The Mitochondria Are the New Frontier

Mitochondrial decline — the gradual failure of the cell's energy-producing organelles — is now understood as a root driver of aging, fatigue, cognitive decline, and chronic disease. Urolithin A (Andreux et al., Nature Aging, 2022) is the first compound proven to activate mitophagy — clearing damaged mitochondria via PINK1/Parkin pathways — in human clinical trials. Red and near-infrared light (630–850nm) provide a second pathway: direct photobiomodulation of cytochrome c oxidase to increase ATP output 30–40%. This issue's featured product and next issue's deep-dive are both built around this. Full feature: Issue No. 04.

The Body Heals Differently Under Stress

Hormesis — the principle that calibrated doses of physical stress produce adaptive biological upgrades — is the scientific foundation beneath heat therapy, cold immersion, fasting, and breathwork. What looks like stress is the body's most powerful repair signal. Laukkanen et al. (JAMA Intern Med, 2018): regular heat exposure reduced cardiovascular mortality by 48% over 20 years. Cold below 15°C triggers 200–300% norepinephrine spikes that persist for hours. These are not wellness rituals. They are dose-dependent pharmaceutical interventions — free, available, and ancient. Full protocol: Issue No. 02, On Cold.

Consciousness Is Being Taken Seriously by Science

The neuroscience of belief, intention, and emotional state is no longer fringe. Dispenza's lab work documents measurable changes in immunoglobulin levels, gene expression, and gamma wave coherence from sustained meditation. Psilocybin (FDA Breakthrough Therapy, COMPASS Pathways) suppresses the Default Mode Network — the neural circuit of chronic self-referential suffering — producing lasting change from a single session (36.7% response rate, Goodwin et al., NEJM, 2022). What the mystics always knew is becoming what the clinicians can now measure. Full investigation: Issue No. 05.

The Trove Pick
The foundation your body has been asking for — in heat, science, and 25 years of evidence

Infrared heat triggers a cascade of repair mechanisms your body evolved to activate through sunlight, fire, and physical exertion. Core temperature elevation above 38.5°C initiates heat shock protein (HSP70) expression, plasma volume expansion, and autonomic nervous system rebalancing — mechanisms now documented at population scale in peer-reviewed cardiovascular research.

Sunlighten's mPulse is the only sauna delivering near, mid, and far infrared independently via their SoloCarbon® and PulseIQ™ technology — because each wavelength acts on a different biological target at a different tissue depth. 200,000+ users. 14 million documented sessions. Low EMF, non-toxic kiln-dried eucalyptus. Six clinically-based wellness programs built in.

Dr. Mark Hyman, Head of Strategy, Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine: infrared saunas are "very effective in reducing the stress response" and support "weight loss, blood sugar balance, and improved detoxification" — specific, testable clinical outcomes, not general wellness language.

Three wavelengths · three mechanisms · three tissue depths
Near (700–1400nm) Activates cytochrome c oxidase → 30–40% increase in mitochondrial ATP synthesis. Stimulates collagen and elastin via fibroblast activation. ~2mm tissue penetration. FDA-cleared for wound healing.
Mid (1400–3000nm) Penetrates 1.5–2cm into soft tissue. Stimulates nitric oxide (NO) release → vasodilation, improved lymphatic flow. Clinical studies: 25–40% reduction in chronic pain scores.
Far (3000nm–1mm) Deepest penetration: 2.5–7.5cm. Core temp elevation triggers HSP70 in 15–20 min. Produces eccrine sweat containing heavy metals (Sears et al., 2012). Plasma volume expansion up to 21%.
Peer-Reviewed Research

· Laukkanen JA et al. (2018). JAMA Intern Med. 178(4):548. n=2,315 men, 20 years: 4–7x/wk sauna → 48% reduction in fatal cardiovascular events; 66% lower dementia risk vs. once-weekly use.

· Lorenzo S et al. (2010). J Appl Physiol. 109(4):1140. Heat acclimation → 21% plasma volume increase; improved VO2max and cardiac output comparable to aerobic training.

· Scoon GS et al. (2007). J Sci Med Sport. 10(4):259. Post-exercise FIR sauna: 32% increase in RBC volume; 1.9% improvement in time-to-exhaustion in competitive runners.

· Sears ME et al. (2012). Sci World J. 2012:184745. Infrared sauna sweat analysis confirms excretion of cadmium, lead, and mercury — supporting role in heavy metal detoxification.

Energy Muse — Crystals & Sacred Objects for the Inner Work
Heather Askinosie built Energy Muse on one principle: stones are tools, not trends. Every piece is chosen for its documented energetic properties and sourced with integrity from the earth. Rose quartz for the heart. Black tourmaline for grounding. Selenite for clearing the field between sessions. The Spirit pillar is not about aesthetics — it is about infrastructure. The right objects in your space hold the nervous system steady when the inner work gets heavy. This is the brand I trust for that.

Dr. Joe
Dispenza
D.C. · Researcher in Neuroscience, Epigenetics & Quantum Physics · Author · Advanced Retreat Facilitator
"A memory without the emotional charge is called wisdom. The moment you can think greater than you feel, you begin to change."

Dr. Joe Dispenza healed himself. In 1986, struck by a car during a triathlon and suffering six broken vertebrae, he declined surgery, checked himself out of the hospital, and spent nine weeks doing nothing but meditate — reconstructing, in his mind, the exact vertebrae that had been shattered. He walked again. He has spent the decades since understanding why, and teaching others to do the same.

His core finding, supported by decades of research into epigenetics and neuroplasticity: your thoughts produce chemistry. The emotions you experience most frequently become your body's chemistry, and your body's chemistry becomes its expectation. Dispenza's lab work documents measurable changes in gene expression, immunoglobulin production, and brain coherence (gamma wave synchrony) in subjects after sustained meditation — outcomes once considered impossible to produce voluntarily.

His research distinguishes between meditation as relaxation and meditation as rehearsal. You are not calming yourself down. You are installing a new future into your nervous system — one your body cannot yet tell the difference from the present.

Gillian stood in the room with 1,700 people doing exactly this for one week in Orlando. The science was explained in the mornings. The practice happened in the dark at 3am, when there was nowhere left to hide from yourself.

The practice · this week

Before you check your phone in the morning — before you open your eyes to Tuesday — spend ten minutes with your hand on your heart. Generate the feeling of gratitude for something that has not happened yet. Not the thought of it. The feeling. Your body does not know the difference between a feeling that is real and one you have fully conjured. That is the mechanism. That is where the change begins.
